VOL – GISP Nature Center Docent Meeting

Galveston Island State Park’s Nature Center is truly the center of the park activities. From March- November, our Nature Center is open from 10 AM- 2 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. This is where you come in!
We are looking for those who are interested in a low-impact, indoor volunteer opportunity. Our Nature Center docents are expected to greet visitors, speak to the parks history and natural/cultural resources and be able to do light housekeeping around the building. Shifts are recommended for pairs, so if you have a volunteer bestie (even if they aren’t a Master Naturalist), talk to them now about volunteering at the Nature Center.
If you are interested we will be hosting a Nature Center Docent Meeting on Friday February 3rd at 2 PM. We will go over volunteer expectations, procedures and pick shifts.
