ALL ARE WELCOME – The Texas Master Naturalist Monofilament Collection and Recycling team is hosting a fishing line cleaning activity
Texas Master Naturalists participate in numerous beach cleanup events. During those events volunteers separately collect monofilament fishing line. In many cases, that line is tangled up with other debris. At this cleanup event we will remove hooks, lures and debris from the line that has been collected so we can prepare it for shipment to Berkley Fishing Tackle’s Conservation Institute where they will recycle this line into useful items like park benches.
This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow Master Naturalists who monitor the monofilament collection tubes we maintain and ask them questions about their experiences in the field.
This activity will be held on the back porch area behind the Carbide Park building.
Feel free to bring a comfortable camp chair and join us. If you have any questions, please contact
Rick and not the sender of this e-mail.
