VOL – Stormwater Wetland Thursday

All, Here is the stormwater wetland volunteer update for this week.

This Thursday: June 25, 9am-12This week we head to the Pearland floating wetlands, checking them, replanting spots and mulching as needed. In the afternoon City staff will re-anchor the wetlands that came loose in the big rains. Chest waders will be useful but not essential to participate as there will be shore-side activity too. Two canoes will be available; if you have access to kayaks or other shallow draft boats, please contact me.  Parking is available at the site but carpooling is encouraged.

 Last week: A big thanks to our new intern Chelsea, who managed last Thursday while Mary Carol was called away for a family event, and Tropical Storm Bill was a no-show in Clear Lake. Thanks also to Lydia and Ray. The three of them potted up about 50 Lizard tail/Saururus cernuus from our Pine Brook Wetlands haul.
