This Thursday: July 23, 9am-12
We will be propagating and potting Maidencane/Panicum hemitomon and other species we have waiting at the nursery, with the goal of working through our backlog and shaping everything up for the summer break (see below).Â
The nursery is near 1801 Neptune Lane, Clear Lake City (Houston) 77062. Park along the street near the bridge (from which you can see the nursery) and take the northeast trail.
This past week:
A surprise—a bucket of American lotus/Nelumbo lutea–was waiting for us today. Chelsea and Cullen had collected it to thin out the fishing pond at Sheldon Lake, and with permission donated it to our cause. We also made a nice dent in the maidencane mix that has been waiting and growing since we collected it Pine Brook wetlands last month. Thanks to everyone who came out and participated—Nancy, Joe, Don, Leda, Chelsea, and new volunteer Royce.
Upcoming dates:
Please note: We took an informal vote this month to go on hiatus for the months of August and September. Mary Carol will be away and Chelsea will be headed to grad school.
