Special Projects


This section will contain descriptions of various “special projects” that our Chapter is actively pursuing.

Past Projects include:

  • Texas Seeds for Success

Current Projects include:

  • Big Trees of Milam County and Nomination Process however, we are not currently seeking new nominations.
  • Bring Back the Monarchs
  • Texas Nature Trackers – Horned Lizards, Houston Toad, and more – TBD.  These are Texas Master Naturalist sponsored volunteer projects.
  • Bird and Bee Farm projects – Hosted by the El Camino Real Master Naturalists, The Milam County Girl Scout 100th Jubilee was held at Bird and Bee Farm July 2021. The Girls Scouts performed Acts of Service by planting Milkweed in the Monarch Butterfly Garden along with other activities. The day concluded with a Bobwhite Quail Release onto Bird and Bee Farm’s Native Prairie. Fun was had by all.
