You will then be contacted to complete some basic information via our online Volunteer Management System, which will trigger a background check by TPWD, and pay a $150 application fee to our Chapter, which can be spaced out in $50 increments.  This fee will also cover the cost of a professional full color hard copy book of training material, or a discount if you wish electronic copy only. For couples or family members who join at the same time and are willing to share the manual, there is $50 discount for the second (or more) persons.

You should review the TPWD Volunteer Manual for some basic information about TPWD volunteering, and information specific to expectations and Chapter procedures regarding becoming a Texas Master Naturalist can be found in our website Library ByLaws etc. page .

Membership is based on completion of 40 hours of training consisting of classes and field trips covering many elements of nature and wildlife, followed by a Certification process which entails 8 hours of Advanced Training and 40 hours of volunteer work to be completed by the end of the calendar year following the end of the class.

Our next class is planned to begin in January 2022. For class agenda details, dates and contacts to sign up or answer questions, see the page Training / Class Curriculum.

We look forward to having you become a part of an adventure that we have all enjoyed, and has so enriched our lives.
