Applications are usually taken when a class is scheduled, but can be done anytime.
You will then be contacted to complete some basic information via our online Volunteer Management System, which will trigger a background check by TPWD, and pay a $150 application fee to our Chapter. This fee will also cover the a hard copy book of training materials.
Membership is based on completion of 40 hours of training consisting of classes and field trips covering many elements of nature and wildlife, followed by a Certification process which entails 8 hours of Advanced Training and 40 hours of volunteer work over the next year.
