Natural Areas of Interest

Everyone has one or more favorite aspects of nature that they love to learn about and share with others.  This “Natural Areas of Interest” section of our web site is intended to offer something for everyone.  Take a look at your favorite areas, view class presentations on the subject, peruse interesting articles on the subject by members and others, see what books and field guides are recommended, and some other web sites for further education.  Our very own Shawn Walton wrote a column for the local Rockdale and Cameron newspapers for many months, each one focusing on an interesting example flora or fauna in our area, and you will find these under their appropriate topics.

Additionally, members may be recording their observations on the iNaturalist site, inaturalist.org.

Enjoy!
