Hemispheric Conservation from Texas to Latin America

September 2 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free. Online. Audubon Texas presents Hemispheric Conservation from Texas to Latin America

How can we protect the migratory birds we love that travel abroad?

No matter where you are along the hemispheric journey of a bird, we are all on the same team.

Join us for an invigorating conversation with Conserva Aves to explore these questions and more!

Conserva Aves is a hemispheric initiative designed to accelerate the protection of critical habitats for birds across Latin America and the Caribbean—one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, home to more than 3,400 bird species and over 340 migratory species that depend on habitats across the Americas.

Despite this richness, significant conservation gaps remain.

However, through a collaborative partnership with leading conservation organizations, Conserva Aves is working to catalyze the establishment of more than 100 new subnational protected areas, contributing to the conservation of over 2 million hectares (4.9 million acres) of critical habitat!

Our Bird Friendly Texas Webinar will feature Sebastian K. Herzog, Protected Areas Initiative Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at National Audubon Society, who will speak about the program.

Let’s celebrate our hemispheric journey and build the connection between the birds we love and the places they travel!
